22-23 November 2018

The Science Media Centre’s highly-acclaimed two-day workshop offers researchers first-hand insight into the workings of news and social media, as well as hands-on, practical exercises to improve communication. More information is available here

Experienced facilitators will provide a supportive environment for researchers to consider their work from different perspectives and find new ways to describe the value of their research to the public.

What researchers say about Science Media SAVVY:

“There aren't many opportunities that merit two whole days of a researcher's time, but this was worth every moment.”

“The environment was so supportive, I have far less fear of interacting with the media. Plus, I now know how to be more proactive and get my message out there.”

Ideally suited for researchers with previous media experience seeking further development of their skills, as well as beginners anticipating media interest in their work. Entry is by selection and limited to 12 participants.

Please apply here before 29 October.

Needs-based funding support is available. To sponsor workshop fees ($595) for successful applicants from your department, organisation or research association, please contact the Science Media Centre.
