The research will contribute to an established HRC-funded project entitled ""Maori with cancer- the role of primary care"". The overall aim of that project is to develop a framework for integrated care across primary, secondary and palliative cancer care services to improve health outcomes for Maori experiencing cancer. Using this project as a platform, training will be centred on analysis of interview data and literature review skills. Further qualitative research methodology skills will be attained by attending a short training course at Victoria University. Working closely with experienced researchers, the applicant will assist with the analysis of data from a survey assessing Maori patient, whanau and provider experiences of cancer care The outcomes of this research are aimed to contribute to further research development and improving health delivery at a provider level.
