Lay summary
The long term effects of TBI in children are not well characterised and may impact both current functioning and the attainment of developmental milestones. This project will assess the post-injury impact of TBI in children and adolescents aged 5-11 years. Approximately 70 children identified as part of the existing HRC-funded BIONIC study will be assessed to explore the effects of TBI on cognitive, emotional, behavioural, social and academic functioning across the home and school contexts. Results from this sample will be compared to those of a normative control group matched for age and ethnicity.
