Lay summary
The aim of this project is to quantify the forces and accelerations required to sustain a specific injury, and to conclude whether shaking alone is sufficient to cause the injuries presented during suspected child abuse cases. By providing scientific evidence, we hope that the causes of child injuries will be more reliably identified, eventually leading to better diagnosis and protection of abused children.
