The health and disability issue to be examined in the proposed research study is historical, multi-generational trauma and the health outcomes in terms of disease states and mental illness in Tuhoe. This research is vital because Tuhoe are entering into a period of positive development and this brings with it the opportunity to fully investigate how history creates multi genrational trauma trajectory and then beyond that, how healing from historical trauma can take place.
