This research project seeks to give voice to Maori women regarding their life experiences pre, during and post-incarceration. These stores will contribute to the development of a health and education programme for Maori women in prison which is based on the principles of Te Whare Tapa Wha and whanau ora, as well as notions of 'health-promoting prisions'.
