Lay summary
Ngati Toa Rangatira are the tangata whenua in the Porirua area. The harbour has been the food basket for the iwi for many generations. Successive local and regional councils ignored the health of the waterways and now the harbour is polluted. This research will reflect, through the eyes of the tangata whanau, the health impacts that Porirua Harbour has on marae and iwi dynamics over several generations. This qualitative research will be conducted capturing (AV) the korero of kaumatua who experienced both the good health and demise of the Porirua Harbour
