The project will examine racism as a risk factor for excess body size. Racial discrimination is linked to negative health measures, including physical and mental health outcomes and use of health services. The studentship will focus on constructing a review of the international literature, determining the current state of evidence, and identification of pathways linking racism to excess body weight. The outcomes of the research are intended to inform further research projects and enhance the research capabilities of the student.
