Lay summary
There is no denying that patient engagement is a major challenge for all health care organisations; whether it is keeping them informed of changes, supporting the transition home after a health event, or responding to questions. With the advent of the ChatBot – a computer programme that can initiate, hold and conclude a conversation - there is an opportunity to completely shift the way the health sector and patients interact. This project intends to iteratively work with a small group of head and neck clinicians and their patients and collaboratively build a ChatBot that responds to their needs.
