Lay summary
The purpose of this piece of research will be to investigate and analyse how Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki responds to the mental health needs of rangatahi. I am in my final year of a Bachelor of Health, public policy and Māori studies and this research will be a base for potential further research on finding solutions to gaps that may be identified. This will be done using Māori methodologies to ensure the report is culturally appropriate and following tikanga. This research is important as not enough inquiry is done on more rural communities and the efficiency of their Māori health providers. Hauraki is both my own and my supervisor's (Dr Aspin) turangawaewae, so we are both very passionate about this cause. Our hope from this research report is to improve how the mental health services at Te Korowai Haurora o Hauraki respond to the mental health needs of rangatahi.
